Daewon Song

Daewon Song turned pro for World Industries in 1993. The year before, he had a breakout part in Love Child, a video that showcased the company’s young team. Song went on to release parts in World Industries videos including 1994’s 20 Shot Sequence and 1996’s Trilogy, establishing himself as one of the most technical skaters of the time. In 1997, he and Rodney Mullen released the first installment of the Rodney Mullen vs. Daewon Song series, and in 1999 Song helped establish Deca. In 2006, he received Thrasher magazine’s Skater of the Year Award. Today, he skates for Almost and DVS, with which he released his first signature shoe in 1997.
